2800 athletes took part in the Ironman event held in Weymouth at the weekend. Competitors took to the water, just as it got light, for their swim in open waters of Weymouth Bay follower by a cycle route that took them into the Dorset countryside, finally a run around Weymouth taking in the old harbour.
